Guidelines for drinking potable water

The EU 98/83 Guideline for Drinking Potable Water and its impact on organising major events.

Purpose of the drinking potable water ordinance:

An excerpt of Section 1 of the German Drinking Water Ordinance reads: “The purpose of the ordinance is to protect human health from the detrimental impact resulting from the contamination of water which is intended for human use by ensuring it is fit for consumption and pure.”

For major events this means:

Before using the mobile sanitary facilities the health authorities can take and analyse water samples. Applies not for private or small events.
