TOI Fresh passed.
Germany’s first TÜV-tested portable toilet
Stephan Diwisch, managing director of HMT Kunststofftechnik GmbH and operations manager, worked together closely with the examiners, because it was the first time the staff of TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH tested a portable toilet. The report confirmed the safety of the portable, stand-alone toilet TOI Fresh of the brand TOI TOI. The purpose of the test was to establish the minimum requirements for providing the user of the TOI Fresh the greatest degree of safety. TÜV employed important regulations and technological guidelines in the test.
For example, they tested how well it could be transported with a crane. The TOI Fresh was loaded with a weight of 461 kg: it’s own weight plus the tank, and the excrement tank was filled half way. It hung on the hooks for three quarters of an hour. And it opened the door 10,000 times for the examiners. The so-called ladies handles on the inside of the cabin had to withstand a tensile load of 600 Newtons; the floor was tested for resistance to slipping.
The tests took place in Gerstungen, Thüringen, the main site of production for TOI TOI and DIXI cabins. HMT Kunststofftechnik GmbH is part of the ADCO Group and, amongst other activities, produces portable toilets for the market leader.
